Commentary: DLA Makes Me the Lucky One

Adults far into their career always say we are “the lucky ones” because we have a clean slate to start our careers in whichever direction we choose to push ourselves. However, for a while, I believed it was those successful career people who were the lucky ones.

2020 Solicitation for FY20 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program

The developmental assignments have been posted for the FY20 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program. Nominations are now being accepted. Enterprise assignments are cross-organizational, at the GS-11 through GS-15 level, and range in length from 3 to 12 months. Assignments are available at several locations throughout the Agency and begin in January 2020 or shortly thereafter.

Son of a Son of a Sailor…. Naval legacies

The United States Navy has a long tradition enlisting some of the most gifted and dedicated men and women the United States has to offer. This proud naval tradition is one that Petty Officer First Class Andrew Tonski knows all too well. Tonski was born Sept, 8 1992, in New Haven, Conn. into a naval family found himself being just the newest member in his family to partake in this naval tradition when he enlisted in the Navy in the summer of 2012.

Army Capt. Stanley Burdine retires after 27-year Army career

DLA Land and Maritime senior leaders and associates in Land Supplier Operations said farewell to one of their own May 31 when Army Capt. Stanley Burdine, a supervisory contract administrator for the Land Post Award, Land Supplier Operations Directorate at DLA Land and Maritime, retired after more than 27 years of dedicated service to our nation.

Pass and ID associate trades in badge for retirement

Harvellia Thomas, known to her coworkers as Harvey, retires after 30 years of government service April 30. She started her civil service career at Ft. Knox as a recreation assistant with the MWR Fitness Center, then transferred to DSCC where she developed quite a following for her fitness classes.

ceremony that culminated nine months of dedication and work in the Level II Mentoring Program March 13 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus Operations Center Auditorium. Level II is a voluntary, formal mentoring program for associates at the general salary grades 9 through 12.
