DLA Land and Maritime and DSCC are partnering with the Mid-Ohio Food Bank to help fight hunger in the greater Columbus area. For the past nine years, the installation has provided continuous support to the local food bank aiding half a million people experiencing food insecurity annually in Ohio.

DLA Land and Maritime awards millions to Ohio small businesses in first half of fiscal year

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime awarded nearly $78.5 million to Ohio small businesses in the first half of this fiscal year ending March 31st. This number includes more than $29.5 million in award dollars to small businesses in the Columbus region. The majority of dollars were awarded to small businesses in the manufacturing sector, with the following areas receiving the most award dollars: General Purpose Machinery Manufacturing, Motor Vehicle Transmission and Power Train Parts Manufacturing, Fluid Power Pump and Motor Manufacturing and Industrial Valve Manufacturing.

Family and friends – the theme of a 25-year Navy career

Navy Captain Justin D. Debord celebrated 25 years of military service during a retirement ceremony in the Operations Center Auditorium June 29 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. In his final assignment, Debord served as the director of Strategic Acquisition Programs for the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime.

Supplier Conference Returns to Columbus, Ohio

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime announces the return of the DLA Land and Maritime Supplier Conference and Exposition to downtown Columbus, Ohio. The 2018 conference will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center June 19 – 20. This year’s theme is “Improving Warfighter Readiness by Strengthening Industry Alliances and Reforming Business Processes.”

A close call for a DLA Land and Maritime associate and Columbus native

What would you do if you knew today was your last day alive? Going to work would likely not be on the top of your list. Brenda Minnema, a management and program analyst for the People and Culture Directorate at DLA Land and Maritime and native to the Columbus area, almost experienced just that April 11. Her day started off like any other. She went to physical therapy in the morning, came to work, went to a meeting, ate lunch and attended a webinar. Everything seemed normal… until it wasn’t.
