Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity, in conjunction with its Strategic Acquisition Directorate, is celebrating MLK Day — a national day of service — with a call to employees to put on their community service hats and make life a little better for their fellow men and women.

Bensley students warm up DSCR tree lighting ceremony with “Hot Chocolate”

The holiday season can be tricky when it comes to Virginia weather. Like a polar vortex in reverse, warm weather made its appearance during the 2019 Tree Lighting Ceremony on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, Dec. 10. Despite the unseasonably mild temperatures, nearly 400 Defense Logistics Agency military and civilian employees and military members from other organizations on the installation were still able to experience what the Bensley Elementary School’s fifth-grade chorus sang about: “This Magic Season.”

DSCR employees help clean up along James River

Defense Logistics Agency employees from Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, participated in the James River Regional Cleanup hosted by the James River Advisory Council Sep. 14 at Falling Creek Ironworks Park in North Chesterfield County. The river clean-up, which resulted in the collecting of more than 100 bags of trash, was part of a larger initiative sponsored by the James River Advisory Council that included similar activities throughout seventeen locations around the state of Virginia.
