Air Force awards $143 million energy savings contract at DoD’s largest joint base

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Force Civil Engineer Center website — The Air Force Civil Engineer Center Energy Directorate’s Program Development division worked together with Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, and the Defense Logistics Agency Energy to award an energy savings performance contract valued at nearly $143 million to increase energy resiliency at the Department of Defense’s largest joint base. Ameresco, Inc. has been awarded the contract to support all areas of JBSA and provide more than $285 million in total cost savings over the 22-year financed term of the contract.

AF awards first energy savings performance contract of 2018 at Hill AFB

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Force Civil Engineer Center website — Recently, the Defense Logistics Agency awarded a $42 million energy savings performance contract, to be executed and maintained by Energy Systems Group, at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This represents the Air Force’s first such awarded contract of 2018.

The project, developed by Redstone Arsenal's Directorate of Public Works, the OEI and the Huntsville Center's Energy Division, is the first Power Purchase Agreement Program project solicited through the renewable and alternative energy Multiple Award Task Order Contract awarded by Huntsville Center in 2013.

Workshop explores ways to maximize savings under ESPC

Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers website — More than 50 government and industry representatives converged at the Bevill Center at the University of Alabama Huntsville Aug. 29 for the first Energy Savings Performance Contracting Measurement and Verification Workshop.

According to Lawrence, because the construction phase of the project is scheduled to be completed by January 2019, it allows Fort Riley to meet federal mandates for a 25 percent reduction from 2015 energy consumption levels — six years ahead of schedule.

DLA Energy brings first large-scale hybrid solar, wind renewable project to Fort Hood

FORT HOOD, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony with other senior officials for the first large-scale renewable energy solar and wind project at Fort Hood, Texas, June 2.
