DLA Aviation CPI project improves organic manufacturing process

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Continuous Process Improvement Office completed a project that shortened the time to process emergency requests for organically manufactured parts by 21%.

Maximo Ayala, the lead instructor and chief, Lean Six Sigma training and project management support branch at DLA Troop Support, conducts Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training Oct. 18 in Philadelphia. Students gain analytical skills during the 40-hour course, which they must pass and then complete a continuous process improvement project to earn their Green Belt certification.

DLA Troop Support offers Green Belt training to employees

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support conducts Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training to educate employees on how to utilize methodologies to implement continuous process improvement within the organization.

Minor adjustment to order-tracking process yields major cost avoidance

PHILADELPHIA — Saplay Seke, a business process analyst in DLA Troop Support’s Process Compliance directorate, facilitated a series of discussions using continuous process improvement techniques to address an issue related to how DLA employees communicate the status of transactions in their business software.

Maria Dubatto, a contract specialist with DLA Troop Support’s Construction and Equipment supply chain, developed a software solution to automate the process of completing the required documentation to ship hazardous materials. The new process is more efficient and prevents delays in customer delivery

Troop Support employee saves time with automated HAZMAT label process

PHILADELPHIA — Maria Dubatto developed an automated process to cut the time it took to complete forms required to transport hazardous materials by 89 percent. She earned her Green Belt certification with the Lean Six Sigma project.

PHILADELPHIA — Time and money will be saved thanks to process improvement projects that led two employees at Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support to earn their Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certifications.
