DLA rapid deployment teams ready to provide emergency logistics support

RICHMOND, Va. — Three Defense Logistics Agency Rapid Deployment Teams stand ready to help military and federal agencies supporting global emergencies like humanitarian assistance and pandemic response. Employees on the cross-functional, 13-member red, white and blue teams are trained to immediately deploy wherever they’re needed.

Rapid deployment team members ready to support operations in 2020

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — The Defense Logistics Agency’s Rapid Deployment Teams support federal agencies during exercises and real-world scenarios including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. In November and December 2019, the teams of subject matter experts from across the enterprise trained for 2020 operations.

As the “backbone” of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, the 455th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron keeps the mission moving at Bagram Airfield.

OCORT resumes June 9

FORT CUSTER, Mich. — DLA Disposition Services’ annual Overseas Contingency Operations Readiness Training will continue to heighten the bar of excellence for agency field exercises when it convenes in mid-June at sites across Michigan.

An EF3 tornado ravaged areas of Albany, Georgia, uprooting trees and destroying buildings along its 70-mile path. DLA Information Operations provided assistance to DLA Distribution employees in getting back up and operating.
