Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas is bouncing back from wind damage sustained from Hurricane Harvey, a category-4 hurricane that formed in the Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in southeastern Texas with wind speeds of up to 130 miles per hour. In the days following the hurricane, rain added another element of destruction to the already damaged area.

Distribution Transportation Team ensures meals, water and other supplies delivered to those affected by hurricanes

Every March, the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Headquarters Transportation Team works with Surface Deployment and Distribution Command on DLA/FEMA requirements to prepare a solicitation to the carrier industry for disaster support rates. When FEMA requirements are sent, the team utilizes the carriers and rates from this solicitation to quickly position supplies at the FEMA staging locations.
