Red River’s safety specialist supports MRAP DEMIL in Afghanistan

Kent Martz, a safety specialist at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas, has spent the last six months in Afghanistan supporting the MRAP Demilitarization mission. Arriving in March 2015, he is expected to return home to Red River at the end of September 2015.

DLA Distribution practices the Continuity of Operations Plan during National Preparedness Month

Since 2002, the month of September has been observed as National Preparedness Month. September was chosen in memory of the attacks of September 11, 2001, and also because it coincides with the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. Sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency within the Department of Homeland Security, National Preparedness Month encourages Americans to take steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, schools and communities. The national preparedness architecture encompasses prevention, protection, response, and recovery efforts to prepare the United States for all hazards – whether terrorist attack or natural disaster.
