Continuous Process Improvement award winners show dedication, making DLA better for all

Where there’s a will, there’s a way — and this year’s recipients of the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Continuous Process Improvement Award are shining examples of this enduring adage. Most of the honorees were recognized Oct. 23 at the Frank Lotts Conference Center, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Among the 20 award recipients, there were three team awards and two individual performance awards. Awards were presented to CPI project teams; Kitting Functionality and Business Process Improvement, Commerciality Determination Honeywell International, and Oklahoma City – Backorder Resolution Process Improvement Project.

Second DLA ball promotes pomp, purpose, people

DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell Williams, who often uses the phrase "the secret sauce of warfighter support" as a description of DLA’s people, invited friends, family members, former DLA employees and dignitaries to enjoy an evening of entertainment, history, fanfare and military traditions during the second annual DLA Ball, Nov. 1. Special guests included guest speaker, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment Robert McMahon and his wife, Hope, along with Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment Ellen Lord, and her husband, Geoff.
