DLA Director visits Land and Maritime, reviews logistics operations plan

Defense Logistics Agency Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell Williams and select members of his senior staff visited Defense Supply Center Columbus Dec. 11 to review DLA Land and Maritime’s present and future logistics operation plans. The visit was hosted by DLA Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Adm. John Palmer and his senior leadership team.

DLA Distribution J4 hosted an ugly sweater contest in honor of the holiday season. Featured donning their holiday creations are (left to right): Eric “king of the elves” Rhodes, Nancy “where’s my drink and cigs” Bates, Laura “I fell in the supply room” Bailey, Emily “ bleeding unicorn horn” Crusey, Brain “hobo” Fahnestock and Gregory “look at me, I’m in a picture” Pigg. The winners will be announced later this week.

DLA Director talks Troop Support operations with leaders, hosts town hall for employees

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support senior leaders engaged in dialogue with DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell K. Williams about the actions they are taking to support DLA’s Strategic Plan, after which Williams held a town hall, during his visit to Philadelphia Dec. 7. Williams reviewed Troop Support’s Dynamic Operating Plan to understand how the organization’s fiscal 2019 plans connect to agency strategy. Williams also praised Troop Support’s accomplishments and later shared the praise with the workforce. “It’s clear that you are doing some very positive things at Troop Support,” Williams said. “My compliments to you.”
