The Defense Federal Community celebrates Native American Heritage Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Federal Community celebrated Native American Heritage Month Nov. 19 in the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Operations Center Buckeye and Cardinal Rooms. November is National Native American Heritage Month. It's a time to affirm our commitment to working toward a society that fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diversity of culture and history of the 573 federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native nations in our country.

CHABELLEY AIRFIELD, Djibouti — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 435th Air Expeditionary Wing website — The 776th Expeditionary Air Base Squadron Services team sustains the mission at Chabelley Airfield, Djibouti, by feeding, housing and providing entertainment to the men and women working on the installation and supporting the U.S. Air Force’s African partners in their efforts to prevent destabilization of the region.

Senior Counsel inducted into Energy Hall of Fame

Known for her ability to break out in song and perform as one of the Andrews Sisters, Kay Bushman broke the mold of a straitlaced office lawyer. A methodical leader, masterful negotiator, talented mediator and trusted mentor, Bushman joined the elite group of former DLA Energy employees in the DLA Energy Hall of Fame during an induction ceremony at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Nov. 13.

Troop Support “stands down” for safety, resiliency

PHILADELPHIA — Employees from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support were educated on warning signs of stress overload and ways to balance work and personal life during a “Safety Stand Down” event Nov. 21 in Philadelphia. Throughout the day, employees had opportunities to attend a presentation from DLA Chaplain Army Col. Robert Wichman, speak one-on-one with him and participate in discussions focused on safety and resilience.

There were 139 graduates in the Defense Logistics Agency Pathways to Career Excellence Program from DLA Troop Support. There were graduates from each of DLA Troop Support’s five supply chains, as well as the Philadelphia offices of DLA Contracting Services and DLA Aviation. The graduation ceremony was held at DLA Troop Support headquarters in Philadelphia on Nov. 19, 2019.
