Engineers, maintainers and logisticians team up on Rhino recovery efforts

The Navy's first strike-fighter, the F/A-18 Hornet, has been involved in every major U.S. military conflict since the 1980s. The twin engine, mid-wing, multi-mission tactical aircraft made its combat debut with strikes against Libya. While the Marines will continue to fly the F/A-18 A-D legacy model Hornets through 2023, the Navy is actively transitioning to F/A-18 E/F model Super Hornets exclusively and projecting to fly them through at least 2050.

High school students get hands-on lab learning

The petroleum lab at DLA Energy Europe and Africa is training high school students how to test aviation fuels. Students attending local high schools in the Department of Defense Education Activity Europe serve as interns in the lab through the Career Practicum Student Internship Program which matches a student with a professional experience based on their interest in a career field.
