A-10 wings replaced
After identifying structural cracks on thin skinned A-10s and A-10C Thunderbolt models the Air Combat Command has issued a systematic grounding of certain affected airframes by corresponding tail number here October 4, 2008. The risk of structural damage to wings of A-10 models was discovered at Hill Air Force Base, UT., while A-10 models were undergoing a service life extension program and scheduled structural inspection programmed visits.
