Innovative idea saves DLA Distribution millions in taxpayer dollars
The primary feature that makes the winged pallet the preferred method for shipping cargo throughout the military is the upper deck of wood that extends beyond the supporting boards below. The winged pallet shown here is in the Eastern Distribution Center, the largest Department of Defense distribution facility in the world, where material could go onto a ship or be sling-loaded and transported by helicopter to a remote site.
