DLA Logistics Operations director to lead Army Aviation and Missile Command
Army Maj. Gen. Lynn Collyar, director of DLA Logistics Operations, will become the next commander of Army Aviation and Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., the Defense Department announced recently.
Collyar will replace Army Maj. Gen. James Rogers, who plans to retire.
Open communication highlighted in USNS Comfort, DLA Troop Support meeting
Members of the DLA Troop Support Medical team met Feb. 9 with newly assigned USNS Comfort personnel to discuss support of the hospital ship during peacetime and in contingency operations. Open and ongoing communication is imperative, officials said.
DLA employees in national capital area exceed CFC goal by 20 percent
Defense Logistics Agency employees in the national capital area gave so generously to the 2011 Combined Federal Campaign that they exceeded the goal of $400,000 by 20 percent. Worldwide, CFC attracts support from more than a million employees each year.
Army museum coming to Fort Belvoir location near DLA Headquarters
An idea from 1814 suggesting a museum dedicated to the U.S. Army is coming to fruition near the intersection of John J. Kingman Road and the Fairfax County Parkway, not far from the Defense Logistics Agency's headquarters complex on Fort Belvoir, Va.
DLA director visits disposition sites in Afghanistan, Kuwait
Navy Vice Adm. Mark Harnitchek traveled across Southwest Asia Feb. 5 to 10 on his first visit to the region as Defense Logistics Agency director. He observed the efforts of DLA team members at several sites across Afghanistan and in Kuwait.
