MISSION STATEMENT
Provide trained, ready and available reservists to enable Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to accomplish
its world-wide combat support agency logistics missions.
OBJECTIVES
DLA supports the National Military Strategy by establishing
and tailoring Contingency Support Teams (DCSTs) to meet a Combatant Commander's requirements
for DLA logistics support capability. DLA reservists are equal partners with the civilian and active duty
workforce in supporting DLA's DCST requirements. Reservists are trained to serve as DCST
commanders, operations officers, commodity and distribution functional experts in 179-day or one year rotation
increments. Training for reservists to successfully fill DCST requirements is accomplished through joint
exercise participation, operational and surge support.
VISION
Assigned and trained reserve personnel are fully integrated and valued as essential members of the DLA
team to provide competent and effective mission support in peacetime, contingencies and operational,
surge and planning missions.
INITIATIVES
- Completed the implementation of a three year training plan and deployment cycle that improves predictability and periodicity for reservists, families and employers
