DLA increases map production cycle, ensures safety in aircraft navigation
Richmond, Va. — Maps guide us where we need to go, but they are only as current as their last update. For many years, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and DLA Distribution distributed updated map products to customers on a 168-day production cycle. That changed in February when the Federal Aviation Administration determined that timeline was too long and could lead to safety issues in aeronautical navigation.

After a decade in the “Boneyard,” Wise Guy back in action
RICHMOND, VA — On May 19, 2016, an Air Force B-52 Bomber, with seven crew members onboard, crashed at Anderson Air Force Base on Guam, a U.S. territory in the Pacific close to 4,000 miles west of Hawaii. All survived the fiery crash that reduced the Air Force’s B-52 fleet to 75, one less than the congressionally mandated 76.
