COLUMBUS, Ohio –
The OSHA Safe + Sound Safety Campaign is a nationwide event to raise awareness of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation and fixing hazards in workplaces. The 2018 event at DSCC featured the Safety and Occupational Health Division and invited local safety organizations.
The Safety and Occupational Health Division hosted informational tables with the following topics safety tools and office equipment safety, ergonomics and industrial hygiene. Highlighted were an ear plug demonstration to learn how to properly don earplugs without injury.
The local organization participants were: American Red Cross, Franklin County Safe Communities Traffic and Pedestrian Safety, Grainger, Motorcycle Ohio, Mount Carmel Hospital Falls and Balance Program and Wright Patterson 88th Air Base Wing, Public Health, Medical Center Safety Ergonomics Demo Workstation.
Associates participated in various points of interest to include: a driving simulator that associates operated while wearing impairment goggles.
Participants benefited by being able to talk and interact with subject matter experts in each field.
