NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
DLA Distribution’s Commanding Officer, Navy Rear Adml. Kevin M. Jones, visited DLA Distribution Oklahoma City, Oklahoma March 11, where he conducted a town hall and presented awards.
Jones shared his command philosophy to those gathered at the town hall held in the Central Receiving area.
During the DDOO briefs, Jones presented Donnie Wingate with a coin for his selection and induction into the Military Packaging Hall of Fame for the National Institute of Packaging, Handling and Logistics Engineers. Jones also presented the DDOO Quality Team with commander’s coins to Kristi Craig, Adrianne Young, Richard Perry, and Joseph Nida for conducting additional quality assurance checks and remedial training. While not present at the time, Ivan Carr and Teikeishia Johnson also received coins for their work on the DDOO Quality Team.
On his tour of facilities, Jones observed potential F-35 and B-21 storage facilities; visited DDOO’s collocated customer engine and flight control packing and crating operations; toured Receiving, Disposal, Strategic Metals Recovery, Packing and Crating and Shipping operations, and the Contract Fiber and Wood Reclamation Function; walked through the reserve CCP and engine storage area; and toured the open and covered storage area.
