DLA Distribution San Diego, California’s Rogers promoted to chief petty officer

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Rogers, former mapping petty officer at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, San Diego, California, was promoted to chief petty officer at the Naval Base San Diego Theater in the company of family, friends and shipmates from his current command Sept. 13.

DLA Distribution San Diego Commander, Navy Capt. Jerome R. White, provided remarks before Rogers was promoted to his new rank.

“As a leader, there’s no greater feeling than that of witnessing the advancement of outstanding members of your team,” said White, “Chief Petty Officer Rogers’ advancement demonstrates how the Navy values DLA assignments and the contributions of personnel who support military and Navy readiness as a member of a joint organization.”

Rogers, currently leading quartermaster for the USS Cowpens (CG 63), worked for DLA Distribution San Diego for three years before being selected by senior enlisted Navy leaders for the promotion to chief petty officer. “Thank all of you for being here today and supporting me throughout my journey. I am honored and proud to be joining the chief’s mess,” said Rogers.
