I am: A sexual assault response coordinator at Defense Logistics Agency Headquarters, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Describe Your Job in a Sentence: I provide professional, confidential, and compassionate advocacy services as well as sexual assault awareness, prevention, and response training to the DLA workforce.
How long have you worked at DLA? Since April 2020.
What is your favorite thing about working for DLA? Working for a professional organization whose leaders truly care for their employees. I enjoy the camaraderie and teamwork within the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program.
How do you make a difference? By ensuring DLA employees always receive the highest quality service and compassionate care when engaging with the SAPR program office.
Why is it important that we have a SAPR program? It provides employees a way to report an incident or ask questions in a confidential and safe environment that’s free of judgement and retaliation. The SAPR program also helps raise awareness about the crime of sexual assault and provides employees prevention and response training.
What do you want DLA employees to know about the SAPR program? That the SAPR program is available 24/7. If employees call the DLA SAPR Hotline at 1-800-841-0937, they will always reach a credentialed sexual assault response coordinator or SAPR specialist who’s ready to assist with advocacy services and resources. Anyone who calls the hotline or visits the SAPR office will always be treated with dignity and respect and will be cared for in a professional manner.
