Army Lt. Col. Jason Logan has served as the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services Director of Central region for the past year. Witnessing firsthand the DLA milestones achieved within the area, Logan’s tour of duty ending coincides with a monumental event within the region.

“The biggest change to Central is the Afghanistan mission going away,” said Logan. “We went from four locations when I first got on the ground, and a civilian and military mix of personnel that was in country supporting that mission [to withdrawing from the country].”

Throughout his time serving as director of the region, Logan had the opportunity to work with a diverse workforce to include civilians, military reservists, active-duty military from the Air Force, Army and Navy. The team’s various backgrounds served as an aid to help get the job done each and every day.

“When all of these pieces come together, it can pose a challenge to accomplish the mission,” Logan said, “But in this case, everyone has come together for the good of the organization and overcome the challenges.”

For Logan, looking back on his time in Central will remind him of the many positive experiences and lessons learned.

“This assignment has been an incredible learning experience for me professionally,” said Logan, “I am immensely thankful for the many relationships I have made over the last year with incredibly smart, caring and committed team members.”

Logan and his family are relocating to Ft. Eustis as he joins the Futures Integration Directorate in Futures Command to take on his next challenge.
