NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania –
In an effort to familiarize themselves with the Foreign Military Sales process, as well as meet face to face with the team from Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Headquarters, the DLA Headquarters FMS Action Officers visited DLA Distribution in New Cumberland, Pa., on October 22.
Seldon Von Der Hoff, Jr. and James Morgan, both from DLA Headquarters Logistics Operations, met with a team of Distribution headquarters employees to discuss the FMS relationship between DLA Headquarters and DLA Distribution.
“We cannot do it without your help,” said Morgan. “Distribution is the face of the FMS process.”
The morning started with a round table discussion allowing the group to have a better understanding of metrics and FMS processes.
The group followed up the discussion with a tour of the Eastern Distribution Center at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, before finally touring the FMS area where they were able to first hand observe the pick/pack/ship, double inspection area and the FMS HAZMAT materials and documentation.
“This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship,” stated Morgan.
