Members of the Turkish Land Forces Command visited the largest distribution center in the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution network, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on Nov. 19 to discuss DLA’s global logistics processes and how DLA Distribution supports foreign military sales customers.  The visit included Maj. Gen. Mehmet Özoğlu, head of the Logistics Directorate in the Turkish Land Forces Command.

The group began the visit with a tour of the Eastern Distribution Center, the Department of Defense’s largest warehouse.  Army Lt. Col. Jacob Freeman, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, led the group through the organization’s key locations, including receiving operations, the Consolidation and Containerization Point, the high-rise storage and retrieval system, and the air line of communication pallet build area.

After touring the Eastern Distribution Center, the group finished their visit to the installation by meeting with United States Army Security Assistance Command representatives.

Özoğlu is responsible for macro-level planning and execution of all logistical activities of the Turkish Land Forces.  The visit was part of DLA Distribution’s ongoing efforts to partner with warfighting customers to provide efficient, effective, and best value support.
