Several associates and a team with DLA Land and Maritime were awarded by the agency for superior work in 2015 at the 48th Annual DLA Employee Recognition Ceremony Dec. 10 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex in Ft. Belvoir, Va.

DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch presented awards to individuals and teams from throughout the agency at the ceremony. Hosting the ceremony for the first time as the agency’s director, he said that as he travels the world, the agency is universally appreciated by its customers thanks to the hard work of everyone in the agency.

“I meet great DLA employees—sometimes its hundreds working all together, sometimes it’s just one person in an office at a base that does something for us—but they’re great people and motivated with a sense of mission that makes DLA just a great place to work,” Busch said. “The reward recipients today are representatives of the larger body of folks I see when I travel around the agency.”

Escorted to the ceremony by Navy Rear Adm. John King, Land and Maritime commander, the six awardees were:
-- Outstanding DLA Personnel of the Year (Civilian Grades 7-12): Natalya Radyk, Maritime Supplier Operations
-- Outstanding DLA Personnel of the Year (Civilian Grades 13-15): Don Schulze, Maritime Customer Operations
-- Achievement in Equal Employment Opportunity by an employee: Debra Hobbs
-- Excellence in Time to Award Team Award: Maritime Supplier Operations team
-- Excellence in Procurement Analysis: Travis Robertson, Strategic Acquisition Programs
-- DLA Joint Reserve Force Junior Officer of the Year: Army Capt. Vince Barber

“I couldn’t be more proud to be the Commander of this great organization,” King said. “The winners and nominees from Land and Maritime demonstrated why the professionalism we foster here in Columbus is second to none.

"I would also like to say thank you to the supervisors, for taking the time to put together the nomination packets and ensure that the hard work of these associates received the recognition they earned."

In all, 50 awards were presented to individuals and teams from throughout the agency.
