DLA Aviation supports more than 1,879 weapon systems and is the U.S. military’s integrated materiel manager for more than 1.7 million national stock number items, industrial retail supply and depot-level repairable acquisitions.

DLA ready to ship vaccines for DOD children overseas

Oct. 27, 2021 - DLA is ready to receive, pack and ship Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for Defense Department children ages 5 to 11 upon final approval by the Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expected early next week.

DLA contracting strategies offer tailored, flexible solutions

Oct. 22, 2021 - DLA Captains of Industry/Supplier Capabilities Contracts are umbrella contracts that incorporate multiple funding lines and contract types. It was a natural choice for the Army’s request that DLA help streamline support for Chinook helicopter blades.

DLA Aviation’s theme is “Reflections of Culture, Pride, Diversity and the American Dream.” This observance is an opportunity for DLA Aviation to recognize and celebrate European American Heritage, to include German American Heritage, Italian American Heritage, and Polish American Heritage. Whether you are German American, Italian America, Polish American or not, it’s important to mark the culture of a people who helped shape our nation. DLA Aviation is honored to highlight European Americans who work daily to provide logistics support to America’s warfighters and other federal customers.

DSCR’s groundwater cleanup effort plan paying off
Community members virtually attended the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond’s quarterly Restoration Advisory Board meeting Oct. 18, 2021. Those who joined received an update on Operable Unit 8, one of four groundwater sites monitored for contaminates  from Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, monitored  by the installation’s Environmental Office. OU 8 is contaminated groundwater flowing under the softball field along G Road just inside DSCR’s North Gate off Strathmore Road.

He also recognized employees with 40 years or more in federal service.
