DLA Distribution

Army Brig. Gen. Barbara Doornink, retired, was DLA Distribution’s 2nd commander from 1998-2000. Under Doornink’s leadership, DLA Distribution produced “A Joint Distribution Doctrine” which defined end-to-end distribution management. DLA Distribution honored Doornink by dedicating its executive conference room in her name, honoring her many achievements and contributions to the organization.

Shawn Whisman, left is sworn in as the first new DLA Distribution Jacksonville, Florida, employee of 2023 on Jan 3. DLA Distribution Jacksonville Director Rich Adderly, provides the federal employee oath of office to Whisman, who joins the agency as a storage specialist. In his new position, he will help DDJF successfully implement WMS in the upcoming months. Whisman is not entirely new to the organization – he previously worked for the contracted service provider and brings along his knowledge

Heather Royal, management analyst with human resources at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Warner Robins, Georgia, has been working for DLA Distribution for seven years and worked in federal service for over 26 years.

DLA Distribution Europe in Germersheim, Germany, conduct a cake cutting ceremony Oct. 14, 2022, to celebrate DLA Distribution’s 25th Anniversary. The team highlighted the Headquarters’ history and DDDE employees’ contributions over the years. Marek Rebisz, left and Patrick Clement, right, youngest and oldest DDDE teammates, had the honor of cutting the cake.

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution has provided critical medical relief support during the COVID-19 pandemic. The mission is currently on going, but some current stats to date provide a scope on the amount of material it takes to fight this virus.
