Fort Belvoir, Virginia –
Defense Logistics Agency officials met with Army leaders at the McNamara Headquarters Complex Feb. 14 to discuss mutual objectives.
DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell Williams; Army Lt. Gen. Aundre Piggee, the service’s deputy chief of staff for logistics; and Army Materiel Command Deputy Commander Army Lt. Gen. Edward Daly led the event, which included representatives from each of DLA’s major subordinate commands.
In his opening comments, Williams emphasized readiness and how DLA should prioritize investment in Army support through demand planning and performance based logistics. He also expressed areas of concern related to cost structure and storage, depot-level repairables and de-obligations.
Piggee opened the session with a state of the Army briefing and a review of open action items. Other briefing topics included supply chain optimization, demand planning and investments, financial updates and overviews of the Enterprise Dashboard and inventory of Army items in DLA custody.
The event concluded with support updates from DLA’s MSC leaders and open discussion.
