At the end of the Vietnam War, her family took on hardship, adversity and trauma and persevered. Today Markus is an electronics engineer with Land and Maritime’s Engineering and Technical Support Directorate.

May 20, 2021 - Each May we celebrate and honor the contributions that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have made and the part they have played in the history of this country. The month of May was selected to coincide and commemorate two important milestones in AAPI history: the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants in the United States and contributions of Chinese workers to the building of the transcontinental railroad.   

European American Program puts spotlight on local survivor during annual Holocaust Remembrance
Murray Ebner was born in Poland and survived the Holocaust before immigrating to America and settling in Columbus, Ohio. Later in life, Ebner shared his experience with local schoolchildren to help educate on the atrocities of the Holocaust.
April 22, 2021 - The Holocaust impacted many lives across the world and the story of a local survivor within the Central Ohio community is the focus of this year’s Holocaust Remembrance by the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Office’s European American Special Emphasis Program committee.

April 16, 2021 - Dawes Arboretum appears to be a local favorite – an attraction on many local resident’s bucket lists – located in Newark, Ohio. What began as a farm and then became the land’s second owner’s dream fulfillment started as a 140-acre farm and has grown today to be a 2,000-acre rolling hill arboretum.
