DLA San Joaquin hosts Expeditionary Academy

Members of the DLA Distribution Expeditionary Team assigned to DLA Distribution San Joaquin, in concert with partners from DLA Distribution Expeditionary Logistics and DLA Training, hosted an Expeditionary Academy Jan. 17 through 27 for the DLA Distribution Operations Team San Joaquin Navy Reserve unit. The two-week event consisted of classroom and hands-on training, with a focus on DLA Distribution and mobilization training.

Distributions Expeditionary team provides support to Louisiana flood victims

In an effort to support humanitarian efforts in the wake of the overwhelming flooding in Louisiana, DLA Distribution’s Expeditionary team, Distributions 25th distribution center, has deployed to operate the Incident Support Base in support of FEMA Region IV Defense Support to Civil Authorities at Maxwell Air Force Base located in Montgomery, Ala.

Distribution leadership hosts Gen Darren McDew, USAF, USTRANSCOM Commander

Air Force Gen. Darren W. McDew, commander, U.S. Transportation Command and members of his team including Brig. Gen. Kyle Kremer and DLA-USTRANCOM staff visited DLA Distribution April 27 for an overview of DLA Distribution, and a tour of the DLA Distribution’s Expeditionary Operations and Foreign Military Sales areas.

Unit conducts valuable training while helping reduce backlog

Members of Disposition Services Unit Six of Jacksonville, Florida, used their December drill dates too not only complete the Defense Logistics Agency’s Joint Incremental Duty Training, or “JIDT Block II,” but also to help the local DLA Disposition Services site catch up on demilitarization and avoid shipping items to Alabama for the required work.
