Norfolk’s Hayes receives Employee of the Quarter Award

Christina Hayes, safety specialist at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Norfolk, Va., has received DLA Distribution’s Employee of the Quarter award for first quarter, fiscal year 2016, for her administration of the safety, environmental, and occupational health programs at one of Norfolk’s detachment locations in Portsmouth, Va.

Bahrain distribution center participates in Army Watercraft testing mission

Due to an increase in responsibilities, DLA Distribution Bahrain was looking to tap into agency resources within the region, coordinating with DLA Disposition Kuwait to determine if demilitarization capabilities existed within its local mission. At the same time and as part of the process to establish the Trans Arabian Network, DLA Support Team - Kuwait was looking for opportunities to test the Army Watercraft mission.

Combined Arms Leadership Development Exercise at DLA Distribution

Former DLA Disposition Services deployer memorialized

A building at DLA Land and Maritime in Columbus, Ohio, has been named in honor of the late Stephen F. Byus, who was killed in action in 2014. Byus deployed twice to Southwest Asia as a mobilized Navy Reserve sailor serving with DLA Disposition Services.

Port Hueneme’s team supports annual Antarctic resupply mission

Each year, the Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking Team at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego at Port Hueneme, California, supports the National Science Foundation’s Antarctic research mission by helping load the NSF research ship. Due to Antarctica's harsh climate, the resupply occurs in January — summertime on the continent — when the ice is thinnest.
