DLA Troop Support celebrates 219 years warfighter support in Philadelphia

Employees celebrated 219 years of DLA Troop Support's continuous logistics support to the United States July 6. Although the official “birth” of DLA may stem from the Oct. 1, 1961 creation of the Defense Supply Agency, DLA Troop Support ties its origins to the acquisition of the Schuylkill Arsenal in 1799.

Yokosuka inventory director retires after 40 years of federal service

Diane Jarvi, inventory director at DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, is saying goodbye to the DLA family upon her retirement from federal service after 40 years of dedicated service to the nation, DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan and the warfighter. Her official retirement date was July 1.

DLA Land and Maritime awards millions to Ohio small businesses in first half of fiscal year

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime awarded nearly $78.5 million to Ohio small businesses in the first half of this fiscal year ending March 31st. This number includes more than $29.5 million in award dollars to small businesses in the Columbus region. The majority of dollars were awarded to small businesses in the manufacturing sector, with the following areas receiving the most award dollars: General Purpose Machinery Manufacturing, Motor Vehicle Transmission and Power Train Parts Manufacturing, Fluid Power Pump and Motor Manufacturing and Industrial Valve Manufacturing.
