NESO analyst digs deep to support enterprise

Aug. 16, 2019 - As a senior operations research analyst in the Defense Logistics Agency’s Nuclear Enterprise Support Office, Mark Melius knows he makes a difference in his job applying his and his oldest son’s experiences of being a direct military customer of DLA’s support.

DLA Aviation “purple” reserve forces answering the call
Maj. Randy Gabriel is one of two Marines assigned to the 34-member Defense Logistics Agency Joint Reserve Force unit in Richmond, Virginia. He is currently on the tail end of a three-month deployment in support of Marine Rotational Force-Darwin in Darwin, Australia, serving as the DLA Indo-Pacific liaison officer to all exercise and operations going on in that area of responsibility. In his civilian job, Gabriel is a logistics program manager at Naval Air Systems Command at Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland.
Aug. 14, 2019 - Defense Logistics Agency Joint Reserve Force is headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. According to its webpage, more than 670 reservists - soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines – are assigned to nearly every DLA organization across the United States, including Hawaii, and Europe.

OSHA Safe + Sound campaign held at Defense Supply Center Columbus
A Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime associate, tests his driving skills using an impaired driving simulator that allows participants to experience what it’s like to drive with a simulated blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 to 0.15 during the 2019 OSHA Safe & Sound Campaign event Aug. 14 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. The campaign was sponsored by the Safety and Occupational Health Division as part of a nationwide event to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs.

Aug. 16, 2019 - During the U.S. Army Reserve’s 2019 Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise at Fort Dix, New Jersey, July 22-31, DLA Energy experts shadowed Army Reserve fuel handlers, transporters, and laboratory specialists as they demonstrated their skills in real-world fuel support using military fuel tankers to transfer the DLA Energy-capitalized bulk petroleum products from Defense Fuel Support Points to DoD installations across the nation.
