Bringing relief
The World Food Programme, the food-assistance branch of the United Nations, transports relief supplies by helicopter from Beira Airport to Bebedo, Mozambique, April 8, 2019, during humanitarian relief efforts in the Republic of Mozambique and surrounding areas following Cyclone Idai. Teams from Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, which is leading U.S. Department of Defense support to relief efforts in Mozambique, began immediate preparation to respond following a call for assistance from the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Disaster Assistance Response Team.
