Former Land and Maritime acquisition leader to be inducted into DLA Hall of Fame
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Acquisition Executive Milton K. Lewis will be inducted into the 2020 DLA Hall of Fame Sept. 29. Lewis led Land and Maritime’s acquisition force from 2008 until his retirement in 2017. Lewis is one of nine former associates across the agency to be honored for his many contributions to the nation. Lewis joins the ranks of 126 people across DLA’s 26,000-strong workforce ever to be inducted – and only the 16th selected from Land and Maritime.

DSCC celebrates 100-year anniversary of women’s right to vote
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Federal Community Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Federal Women’s Program observes Women’s Equality Day. This year’s theme is “Women’s Right to Vote.” August 26 marks the anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage Movement’s greatest victory – women achieving full voting rights following the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution 100 years ago.

DLA Land and Maritime leadership changes hands during change of command ceremony.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Leadership transitioned in Columbus, Ohio as the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Commander, Navy Rear Adm. John T. Palmer turned over command to Navy Rear Adm. Kristen B. Fabry in a July 17, 2020 change of command ceremony. Fabry also assumed command of the Defense Supply Center Columbus as a dual command responsibility. The event was held in a pavilion area on the Defense Supply Center Columbus.

Army Colonel closes out stellar 27-year career
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Army Colonel Juanita Clarke closed out 27 years of military service June 30 as she bid farewell to Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime. In Clarke’s final assignment, she served as the director of DLA Land and Maritime’s Land Customer Operations Directorate leading a team of professionals providing support to more than 18,000 customers.

Defense Supply Center Columbus to implement enhanced visitor process
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Supply Center Columbus is finalizing an enhanced visitor clearance system that will improve installation security and increase efficiencies for visitors requesting entrance to the installation. This new process will be implemented beginning Aug. 1, 2020.
