Hurricane Harvey formed in the Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in southeastern Texas, bringing record flooding and destruction to the region. Two former military trucks, issued by DLA Disposition Services through the 1033 program to Texas law enforcement, depart the Texas Federal State Property San Antonio Office as the sun sets. The next morning the trucks were operating on the east side of Houston rescuing people from flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Surplus blankets aid relief efforts

Oct. 12, 2017 - Hurricane Harvey, a Category 4 major hurricane forming Aug. 17, and making landfall in Southern Texas on Aug. 25, was an extremely destructive Atlantic hurricane, becoming the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States since Wilma in 2005, ending a record 12-year drought in which no hurricanes had made landfall at such an intensity in the country.
