PHILADELPHIA –
Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees, known for providing critical supplies to warfighters, supplied gifts, games and cheer to local students during the annual Children’s Holiday Party Dec. 8.
Employees volunteered to donate, wrap and deliver gifts for more than 200 kindergarten and first-grade students of Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. They also led the students in arts and crafts, and games.
Richard Ellis, DLA Troop Support deputy commander, joined the volunteers and spoke with the students about the holiday ornaments the employees were helping them create.
Crystal Robinson, an acquisition specialist with the Medical supply chain, went from class to class entertaining students and leading them in songs.
“It’s about their smile and happiness,” Robinson said. “It brings me joy to see them smile.”
Robinson said that she appreciates how the workforce continues to volunteer their time and donate to support the annual event.
“I’ve always said that DLA Troop Support, when things need to get done as far as volunteers, we all come together and do what we need to do,” Robinson said.
