The Defense Logistics Agency is responsible for contracting, purchasing, storing, and distributing most of the consumable, expendable, and repairable items for DoD. Its primary purpose is to meet the logistics requirements of the armed forces for food, clothing, fuel, repair parts, and other items.
DLA supports the force by providing materials from copy paper to uniforms, batteries to parts, jet fuel to technical manuals, and containers to forklifts.
