DLA Energy worked with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District to demolish a fuel tank damaged by the unprecedented and historical March 2019 flooding in the Missouri and Platte River basins.
The DLA Energy Worldwide Energy Conference originally scheduled for March 2021 has been postponed. We are in the process of securing new dates and will share updates with our stakeholders and interested parties as they are finalized.
For the fifth consecutive year, DLA Energy employees earned Federal Energy and Water Management Awards for their contributions to energy and water efficiency and resilience within the federal government.
A realignment plan for the global DLA capitalized fuel facilities Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization Program Management is improving processes and providing “one voice” to customers.
To meet the increasing need for sustainable and efficient fuel resources, DLA Energy is teaming with the University of Maine to transform forest residues, sawmill residues, municipal solid waste, and construction wood wastes into a hydrocarbon fuel oil.

Federal Energy and Water Management Awards
Defense Logistics Agency Energy Contracting Officer Jacob Vigil earned two 2020 Federal Energy and Water Management Awards for his contributions to energy and water efficiency and resilience within the federal government. One of the awards was for a $206 million energy savings performance contract project at Misawa Air Base, Japan. Part of that project included the construction of a new liquefied natural gas facility capable of providing six days-worth of fuel in the event of a power disruption.

Energy liaison puts pieces together in the Agency’s Synchronization and Operations Center
Teresa Hass is a financial analyst in the Energy Finance Liaison Office who was selected to serve a four-month assignment in the Defense Logistics Agency Synchronization and Operations Center at DLA Headquarters on Fort Belvoir, Virginia, from September to December 2020. She said the experience broadened her understanding of the DLA mission.
