Morale, Welfare and Recreation hosted their rebranded fitness and wellness festival Fit Fest June 6 at the MWR Fitness Center, Swimming Pool and Eagle Eye Golf Course on the Defense Supply Center Columbus.
The mission of Fit Fest was to introduce, educate and help DSCC associates adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle to increase general health, resiliency and productivity; reducing physical and mental health risks.
The carnival themed event was was attended by approximately 500 patrons.
Activities included a Carnival 5K, cornhole open play, table tennis open play, obstacle course challenge, Army Combat Fitness Test Training Station, pickleball demo, ZORB ball challenge, basketball 3-point shoot-out, fitness class demo, healthy cooking demo, blood pressure screenings, Rental Center Roadshow, food trucks, photo booth, swimming pool open house, golf activities and music.
Winners of the 2019 Max Meltdown Weight Loss Competition were awarded during the opening of the event. There were also several giveaway and prize opportunities including free fruit and water, free t-shirts for patrons who participated in select activities, free totes for patrons who “Walked to Fit Fest” and eight prize winners from a passport drawing.
