San Diego, California –
The Defense Logistics Agency provides supplies to Antarctica and the South Pole during Operation Deep Freeze in support of three primary customers: the National Science Foundation, Naval Expeditionary Warfare Center and Naval Surface Warfare Center. A new video depicts how employees from DLA Distribution San Diego, California, support the mission by lending their expertise in packing items for extreme cold at Port Hueneme, California.
Operations Manager Michael Davis describes the Port Hueneme Shipping Terminal as “a mining town in the middle of nowhere.” The annual packing mission included food, clothing, paper products, dishes, cleaning supplies, and electrical equipment for scientists and engineers.
