DLA Pathways Internship Program prepares employees to enter PaCE Program

By Carlton Edwards DLA Land and Maritime People and Culture

The Defense Logistics Agency Pathways Internship Program serves as a pipeline for the DLA Pathways to Career Excellence Program. Following successful completion of academic and work experience requirements, six DLA Land and Maritime Pathways Interns entered the PaCE Program’s supply career field.

The DLA Pathways Interns completed this training program with the support of a program manager and DLA Land and Maritime employees and supervisors in their assigned departments. The program manager encouraged engagement between interns and their department, monitored completion of college courses and ensured relevant on-the-job training. The success of these interns is especially noteworthy due to the changes that were brought about by the impact of COVID-19.  During Ohio’s Stay at Home Order and DLA Land and Maritime’s transition to a full-time telework schedule, training and engagement continued virtually.

With the experience and training gained during the DLA Pathways Internship, these employees are better prepared to continue their next phase of federal employment, the two-year PaCE Program.

These college graduates have expressed they are happy to be employed at DLA Land and Maritime. We are happy to have them join us and bring a broader perspective to the organization. Please welcome Dharar Abdus-Sabur, Cordell Beck, Andrew Embrey, Haley Litman, Daniel Martin and Wilson Train to their new adventure in the PaCE Program.
