RICHMOND, Va. –
On a sunny and surprisingly warm early April day, close to 100 people, making up 24 teams, took part in the 13th annual Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Golf Classic played at Choctaw Creek Golf Course in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma April 9.
DLA Aviation at Oklahoma City’s Sunshine Club sponsored the outing, which was also open to the public. The club was formed in 2009 as a morale building organization by aviation employees working in Oklahoma City on Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
Material Expediter Supervisor Keith Dietz is the club’s president. He said funds raised though events like the golf tournament, go toward future employee enrichment activities as well many local charities including the Boys & Girls Club and the Ronald McDonald House Foundation.
Tournament participants not only got a chance to practice their swings and lay claims to bragging rights for a year, but some also walked away with prizes like an indoor grill and gift certificates from local restaurants.
