A wife, a mother, and a hard worker who continuously strives to be a proactive member of my team to ensure our organization is successful. I take great pride in my work ethic, and I am extremely proud to be a member of the DLA Energy team.
Describe your job in a sentence:
I am the Supply Planner for DLA Energy South-West Pacific. I oversee fuel inventory and processing for seven defense fuel support points directly supporting Warfighters around the globe.
How long have you worked at DLA?
I began working at DLA in August 2004 as an administrative assistant for DLA Distribution Guam, Marianas. I transferred to DLA Energy South-West Pacific in June 2017.
What is your favorite thing about working for DLA?
I wanted to work for DLA to broaden my understanding of logistics and expand on my previous experience in logistics distribution. But now, it is so much more. Being married to a veteran who retired after 21 years of service and having a daughter commissioned in the U.S. Army, I have gained a true appreciation for what it means to serve our nation. The privilege to work for DLA has allowed me to serve in another capacity besides supporting my husband and daughter. The value that DLA adds to ensure our military is successful, in this increasingly complex and ever-changing environment, makes me proud to be a member of the team.
What are your best memories of working here?
Working in collaboration with different DLA Major Subordinate Commands that share the common goal of supporting the Warfighter. Knowing and understanding how we all come together as a team has allowed me to build my experience and increase my overall ability to better support the Warfighter, our service members and our nation.
How do you make a difference?
Our community is proactive in planning for current and future energy needs and petroleum initiatives. In my field, equipment sustainment, modernization, forecasting, and accountability make a significant difference in supporting Warfighters. I want to be a part of a professional organization where teamwork matters and where people strive to not only better themselves but also the people around them.
How do you resolve conflict in the workplace and at home?
My attitude makes the difference in how effectively I resolve conflict or overcome differences. When you respect life, value the people you work with or live with, and are mindful of different perspectives, resolving conflict becomes easier and feels more like an opportunity for growth, rather than a negative experience that results in an impasse and frustration.
