What is your job title, and what do you do, specifically?
My job title is customer support specialist lead. I am responsible for ensuring my teammates know how to properly research their unfilled order reports as well as any other pertinent documents that utilize the various DLA enterprise systems and websites. I am also responsible for making sure my team members know how to request expedites of awarded contracts and materials from alternate sources using multiple avenues to ensure the customer receives their materials in a timely manner.
What do you like most about your job?
What I like most about my job is that, after retiring from the Marine Corps, I still get the comradery and great team-building atmosphere.
What aspect(s) of your current job gives you the most personal satisfaction? Why?
The aspect of my job that gives me the greatest satisfaction is filling backorders and getting the necessary materials to our customers in a timely fashion.
What kind(s) of training and education helps your work performance in your current role?
The training I received while serving in the Marine Corps has proven to be invaluable and has definitely helped me in my current role. With that said, during my time here at DLA, I have attended many training sessions with local leadership and other subject matter experts from many of the DLA forward sites that have also helped me throughout my career.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Over the years, I have developed many pet peeves, but I would have to say my biggest is lack of initiative and not giving your best effort to the customer.
What are some of your passions outside of work? My passions outside of work include doing anything that keeps me active. I really enjoy softball and golf but my biggest passion outside of work is watching my son play baseball with his high school and showcase teams. I just really enjoy being at the baseball field watching him.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
I have many accomplishments that I am proud of to include: earning the title United States Marine and retiring from the Marine Corps. However, I would have to say my proudest accomplishment is being able to see my son reach his goals in life. Seeing him achieve all of the different milestones makes me proud.
