Tellis is awarded the Defense Meritorious Service

Commander Charles M. Tellis, Supply Corps, United States Navy, was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service medal during a ceremony at DLA Distribution Bahrain June 13.

“It’s truly an honor to preside over today’s ceremony as we bid farewell to Charles and celebrate the many accomplishments under his leadership,” said Army Col. Hattie Richardson, commander DLA CENTCOM and SOCOM. “He has had a distinguished career with multiple tours.”

Tellis commanded the distribution center from May 2017 until June 2019.

Tellis is a graduate of the University of West Florida and received his commission in 1999 though Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida.  He has a master’s degree in Management from Troy University, a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies and is a graduate of the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School at Naval War College Newport, Rhode Island.

Next Tellis will attend the Eisenhower School of National Security in Washington D.C.
