HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah –
Hundreds of Airmen from the 419th Fighter Wing and 388th Fighter Wing and their families gathered in a hangar here today to celebrate Thanksgiving together.
Local restaurants catered the event with support from the local community. Military spouses also chipped in to make the hangar feel more like home, complete with fall decorations.
"I love coming to work for you all every single day," said Col. David B. Lyons, 388th FW commander, while addressing those in attendance.
Lyons said he's thankful for his Air Force family, and encouraged Airmen to remember families whose loved ones are deployed for Thanksgiving.
"This is a time to reflect on a great year at Hill Air Force Base and to celebrate together," said Col. David Smith, 419th FW commander. He also asked that Airmen take care of each other during the holiday season.
Smith and Lyons joined business leaders from the local area to serve food to Airmen, which included turkey, traditional sides, and an array of desserts.
