Disaster response exercise held at DSCR

By Leon Moore DLA Aviation Public Affairs

As part of the approved Fiscal 2019 Installation Exercise Schedule, Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, conducted a table top exercise, June 13 in the DLA Aviation Operations Center. The exercise focused on response and recovery operations in the event an earthquake strikes DSCR and the surrounding areas.

Representatives from DLA Installation Management Richmond, including police and fire, DLA Aviation’s Command Support Directorate and tenant organizations on center took part in the close to two-hour evolution.

Bill Bullock, Installation emergency manager, Security and Emergency Services, DLA Installation Management Richmond, said the objectives of the table top exercise were to focus on validating tactics, evaluating and refining current installation-level procedures and techniques already in place in case of such an event.
