DLA Aviation Public Affairs

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Navy Cmdr. Eric Lockett, who is currently serving as the executive officer and operations officer, Navy Customer Facing Division, Customer Operations Directorate has been selected to command DLA Energy Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

“His selection serves as a major milestone in a highly successful career and sets the conditions for greater opportunities and successes,” said Navy Capt. Mark Harris, chief, Navy Customer Facing Division. “We are excited for his selection and that he remains in the DLA family.”

Lockett’s variety of sea and shore duty assignments have provided him with extensive logistics and management expertise.  His operational assignments began at North Island, California, as a helicopter technician in 1992. Among his other assignment he served as a division officer onboard USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), and deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom in 2003.  He went on to serve as the supply officer on USS Mason (DDG 87), deploying again in support of overseas contingency operations in 2008.  He also deployed in 2013 as the lead petroleum liaison officer for DLA Energy at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan and in 2015 with USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) Strike Group in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Before arriving at DLA Aviation in 2016, he served aboard the USS Harry S. Truman as the assistant supply officer and principle assistant for services. Among his ashore assignments, Locket served between 2011- 2014 as chief of Current Operations and Plans, and as director of Supplier Operations at DLA Energy Europe and Africa, in Germany. From 2005-2007, he served at the Fleet Logistics Center, Yokosuka, Japan as a petroleum management intern, and from 2001-2002, he served as the director of Supply Training at Fleet Training Center Norfolk, Virginia.

Lockett will assume command sometime next year.
