Distribution Norfolk hosts U.S. Army Security Assistance Command team members

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs

U.S. Army Security Assistance Command team members recently visited facilities at DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia.

Joseph Kidwell, Jr., senior central case manager, USASAC, expressed his team’s gratitude to the staff at DDNV for hosting them during the visit.

“Orlando, myself and Fran could not be more impressed,” stated Kidwell, adding, “to say your facility has come a long way since my visit in August 2018 would be a huge understatement. U.S. Army Security Assistance is proud of the teamwork our organizations have collectively done to help the Foreign Military Sales partner nation of Colombia.”

According to Kidwell, the dedicated channel flight from Charleston, South Carolina, to Colombia closed March 1, 2018.

“This caused an enormous hardship for Colombia,” said Kidwell, continuing, “However, what we are communicating to Colombia is that DLA (Distribution) Norfolk is a viable facility and the team they have is highly motivated and dedicated! The simple fact that no Colombian-aged FMS material is presently at DDNV’s facility and the rapid pace in which your team moves Colombia material to them is equally impressive!”

“You have my sincere thanks and appreciation,” stated Kidwell.
